Frequently Asked Questions

Since you asked...

  • Besides tours, what services do you offer?
    • In addition to both coach tours and walking tours, we also offer step-on guide services, destination management services, and team building games. In short, we offer all of the services that travelers to Portland might need - be it fun outings, add-ons to meetings and conferences, or services that make your stay here more comfortable.
  • What locations do you serve?
    • We depart tours from downtown Seattle and Portland, and serve tourist destinations all over western Oregon and Washington.
  • Do you offer package deals?
    • Packaging together multiple services, activities and options with us is a great way to save. All of our group travel services and activities are provided on an individualized basis, customized to meet your needs, at the best possible price we can extend to you.
  • What qualifies you to provide these services?
    • Hometown Advantage has been providing tour, DMC and event services for over ten years. Our in-house W-2 staff includes certified meeting planners (CMPs), former hotel concierges, and nearly 200 years of combined guide experience. As long-time residents of the Northwest and frequent travelers ourselves, we know what Portland's guests expect, and we're dedicated to being the best at providing it.
  • Do you offer walk-up or hop-on, hop-off bus tours?
    • Hometown Advantage's subsidiary, Portland Walking Tours, offers walk-up walking tours seven days a week most months of the year. All of our coach tours, however, must be arranged in advance.
  • What happens to my information if I sign up for an account on your website?
    • Hometown Advantage hates spam as much as you do. We'll only contact you for reasons that, we hope, you signed up in the first place: to talk about bookings you may be considering with us or keep you up to date on our tours, events, activities and services.
    • Plus, skipped kindergarten, so we don't like to share. Your info will NOT be shared with other vendors who will spam you. (Especially since that could put your info in the hands of our competitors.)
  • Do you offer bilingual tours?
    • Many of our guides are bilingual. Please call us if you have needs for non-English language guides on your tours.
